Norma Jeanne Mortenson was born on June 1, 1926, and died at age 36 on August 5, 1962. She spent most of her childhood in foster homes. She then began a career as a model, which led to a contract with 20th Century Fox in 1946. Her name was changed to Marilyn Monroe. She had three husbands over the years, James Dougherty(1942-1946), Joe DiMaggio(1954), and Arthur Miller(1956-1961). She died in 1962 from a drug over dosage.
